Research ProfileMy group combines theoretical, synthetic, and physical chemistry to study the electronic properties of molecules, polymers, and materials. All of our work involves the understanding and utilization of electronic properties from a physical organic and materials point of view. The properties of both molecules and supramolecular assemblies (such as crystals) are directly affected by structure. Predicting supramolecular assembly characteristics remains a challenge in most cases, but steady headway is being made use of directional interactions between molecules, such as coordination chemistry and hydrogen bonding.
